Wallpaper Removal

Removing wallpaper will require some basic skills and tools. It is not terribly difficult, but the removal times depend on several factors, including on the type of wallpaper in place and the condition of the surfaces. For instance, if the wallpaper was put over an unprimed wall, you will find yourself wishing for some sort of punishment for whoever did so.

Here are the basic steps to removing wall paper effectively:

1) First, make sure to turn off the power at the circuit breaker panel so you can remove all switch and outlet covers. Then you can use masking tape to cover the switches and outlets. Also, apply masking tape on the baseboards and use a drop cloth to cover the floor.

2) Use a perforation tool to effectively perforate the wallpaper without damaging the drywall beneath.

3) Now you can apply wallpaper remover using a pray bottle. You can also use a mixture of water and vinegar to do the job.

4)

Now it is time to wait for the wall paper remover to do its job. After waiting 10 to 20 minutes, it is now time to peel off the wallpaper using rubber gloves. You can also spray a second time and try to remove the remaining wall paper. If there is wall paper still left, then you can use a plastic scraper to scrape lightly and remove what is left of the wall paper.

There it goes, wallpaper removal made easy.
