Window Styles

A home's windows can add a distinguishing detail. In addition, the windows can make your home more comfortable, quiet, and attractive. In order to choose the right windows, however, you'll need to know about the different styles available, from the more contemporary to more classic ones.

Here is a brief overview:

If you are looking for wood windows in Berkeley and Piedmont, please call us at Wood Windows Warehouse, where we will provide you with the best service and quality wood windows!
Casement Windows - Casement windows are hinged at the side and thus open outward, either to the right or left.  Casement windows are known for allowing plenty of light in. In addition, since they can open wide, they can allow breeze to come in and thus improve the ventilation in a room.

Awning Windows - Awning windows hinge at the top and open out from the bottom, usually through the use of a crank. Since awning windows can open outward, they allow for more light and ventilation while making sure that the rain stays out.

Double Hung Windows - Double hung windows have a top sash that can be lowered and a bottom sash that can be raised. The two sashes allows for some flexibility in ventilation and in safety.

Broken Windshield? Duran's can help you with mobile auto glass repair in Berkeley.  We are determined to become the most customer-centric auto glass company in the Bay Area!
Sliding Windows - Sliding windows feature two sashes, one that is fixed and another that can slide from side to side.  Sliding windows work well in high traffic areas since they are easy to use and do not get in the way of people or objects.

Bay/Bow Windows - These windows use a combinations of windows that are angled outward to maximize the view. These types of windows can increase the sense of space inside a room are are popular for living rooms and bedrooms.
